Founding Advisory Council

We are establishing a founding council of about a dozen advisors, college-age and beyond. Here are ways to belong — you only need one. It is a one-year renewable term with 3–5 virtual calls or emails a year: light effort, big impact.

• You have roots in North Carolina. You know a place here from the inside, whether or not you still live there. Bonus credit if it's a rural place.
• Your story has an “exponential arc.” Your story looks like the pattern we are trying to create: capability and potential, a limited starting point, an adult or program that spotted you, and something that changed the trajectory. Open to supporters from anywhere.
• You're a proven thought leader in education. You've seen and done a lot in this domain.

Ways to help — pick what fits

• Community texture. Share what your hometown is actually like: who the trusted adults are, what families there are wary of, what an ambitious fourteen-year-old is up against. Make a warm introduction when it makes sense.
• Honest reactions and advice. Look at initiatives we are exploring or building, and how we talk to students and parents, then tell us what's off and what works. We would rather hear a hard no from you than a polite yes from a family.
• Share your story. Let us record and share the full story of your exponential arc — how you got from there to here. We are a new organization without alumni or success stories yet, so stories like yours are the best way to show families and educators what we are aiming for.
